This very sharp needle features a "wing" on each side which pierces/cuts holes into the fabric to create a unique decorative openwork.
You may want to use a stabilizer and experiment with different decorative stitches to see the results you can get. Carefully hand turn the needle through the stitch movements before actually trying on a project to assure that the throat plate opening will accomodate the design!
